Mirrool Hotel - Mirrool NSW

Standing proudly in the centre of Mirrool, the Mirrool Hotel is proof that some of Australia's best country pubs are found in the smallest towns. With friendly locals, hearty meals and old-fashioned hospitality, it's a must-stop when travelling through the Riverina.

The current hotel was constructed between 1913 and 1917, replacing an earlier hotel that had served the district since the 1800s. In the early 2000s, local families famously came together to purchase the hotel's licence, ensuring their beloved pub remained at the heart of the community rather than being lost forever.

Mirrool is internationally famous for its quirky Mirrool Silo Kick, where competitors attempt to kick an Australian Rules football over the towering grain silos opposite the pub. The event attracts hundreds of visitors every October and has become one of the Riverina's most unique traditions.

Take time to explore the surrounding Riverina farming country, enjoy peaceful country roads and experience authentic rural Australia.

Did You Know?
The very first Silo Kick was won by AFL great Billy Brownless, and even today, the silos still defeat many competitors.
